Amanzi is located in the village of Wellawaya in the Province of Uva – which is known as “The Land of Thousand Lakes” since ancient times – in the beautiful island of Sri Lanka, which is surrounded by the Indian Ocean.
The 268 km drive from Colombo (Sri Lanka’s Commercial Capital) to Wellawaya takes about 3½-hours via the Southern Expressway. The entry points to the Expressway could be either Kottawa or Kahatuduwa from Colombo and the exit is from Mattala. The drive from Mattala to Wellawaya is via Thanamalwila.
Located at the foot-hills of the 5,000-foot tall Poonagala Mountain Range, Wellawaya is the only cross-road in the whole of the south-east region of the country. The northern and western roads lead to the central hills, and the other two to the southern and eastern coasts of the island.
